Indicators Your Child May Benefit From OT:
- Difficulty tolerating touch (i.e. brushing hair or teeth)
- Difficulty catching or throwing a ball
- Unable to ride a bike independently (by age 8)
- Poor organizational skills
- Frequent emotional outbursts or "meltdown"
- Lack of age appropriate play skills
- Weak, stiff, or uncoordinated movements
- Awkward grasp or misuse of writing utensils, scissors and other tools
- Excessive seeking or avoidance of movement or touch
- Absence of hand dominance (after age 6)
- Difficulty with age appropriate self-help skills (i.e. dressing and toileting)
- Difficulties with social interactions
- Difficulties with feeding, food aversions, or limited diet
- Poor balance skills
